Please read the below listed email from the Election Committee.
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. THIS WILL AFFECT EVERY MEMBER OF THE PICKLEBALL CLUB.
Your club is in dire need of someone to step up, and fill the role of secretary for the 2020 calendar year.
It is mandated that we have a full board for the club to continue. We have nominees for all other positions.
If we cannot get the position of secretary filled, then your club will cease to exist on January 1, 2020.
Digest that for a moment, and consider the impact it will have. Let me help you.
No more:
Leagues/Ladders.
Introductory Lessons
Potluck Mixers—Sunday Mixers—Beginning/Intermediate Mixers—Mixed Doubles Mixers—Singles Mixers
Round Robin events
Tournaments. The board orchestrates, and coordinates these.
Free Clinics
Court cleaning by the Pickleball Club. There won’t be a club. This function will return to CAM. If history is any indicator, workers will not show up when they are supposed to, presuming you are even notified that they are coming. Remember, the club is the conduit between its members and CAM.
And last, but certainly not least. No more drop in. This alone will create chaos, confusion, and acrimony. You will have to reserve a court to play. If you’re not invited, good luck not only finding another court, but people to play with as well.
It is not my intention to create trepidation, or engage in hyperbole. Nevertheless, the gravity of the situation is real, and the foregoing is what you are facing if we do not have a complete board.
Is this what you want?
If not, we need one person out of 1300 members to join other nominees, so this club can move forward into 2020.
I believe that person is among us.
Here’s hoping he or she submits their name. Otherwise, enjoy club activities for the next 60 days. December 31, midnight, say goodbye to 2019….and your pickleball club.
