GRAND PICKLEBALL CLUB
MONITOR PROCEDURES
1.
As a member of
the club you understand that you are required to monitor or volunteer for a
club function.
2.
BE SURE YOU ARE WEARING YOUR OFFICIAL
CLUB NAME TAG!!!
3.
The table and supply cabinet are located next to the gray storage locker, beside the block wall at the end of the bleachers. Set up the monitor station at the table. Leave the table setup at the conclusion of your monitor duties and place the monitor supplies back in the cabinet. Wear the Monitor Name Tag. Post “Grand Pickleball Club Drop-in” sign.
4.
Set up
clipboards with several “Pickleball Sign-in Sheets”. Record today’s date
and your name.
5.
Check the courts for players who arrived before drop-in starts and
obtain sign-in from those players. Obtain sign-in from ALL drop-in players. Verify
age (>16) and proper footwear. (Guests under
16 must wait until after Drop-In to use the courts.) If necessary, go to
the courts for people who arrived before Drop-In starts.
6.
You may play while monitoring, but you must still perform monitor
duties. This means that you cannot set
up the table, play for two hours, and then put the table away. If you wish to play, fill and post ‘Today’s
Monitor’ sign with your name and what court you are playing in. Inform the people that you are playing with
that their game might be interrupted for monitor duties. Periodically check that players are wearing
name tags and they have a current year sticker.
Check that signed in players are on the roster.
7.
If you see any players without a name badge, and you determine that they
are entitled to play at drop-in, issue them a temporary name tag (see item
9). If they are not entitled to be at
drop-in, politely explain the rules and ask them to leave the courts.
8.
If you see any players with inappropriate footwear or clothing, ask them
to leave the courts.
9.
For members without a name tag, issue them a temporary name tag. For SCG resident non-member, check blue “Temporary Badge/Visitor Sheets” (in
binder) to see how many times they have played Drop-In (MAX=3 per year).
If less than 3, issue temporary name badge, and record name & date on blue
“Temporary Badge/Visitor Sheet” (in binder). If they have already played
Drop-In 3 times, inform them that membership dues must be paid before they can
play Drop-In again and ask them to leave the courts.
10. Periodically verify members’ names against roster (to detect any
players who were previously members but are not currently paid). If any
non-current members are playing, inform them that they must pay their dues to
play Drop-In again (they must leave).
This is a double check; you should have been able to determine this by
noticing players without a current year sticker on their badge.
11. Hang the skill level signs on courts 9 and 10 if
appropriate (summer after drop in time changes to 8 am). See the court monitor sign for appropriate
skill level. If there is insufficient
usage for courts 9 and 10 for the skill level, remove the sign(s) and free up
the court(s) for the regular drop-in.
12. If an accident occurs, provide an incident report
(from binder) to someone who witnessed it, ask him/her to complete it.
Completed reports should be turned in to the desk at
13. At close of Drop-In session, place today’s sign-in
sheets in proper section of binder (“Completed Sign-in Sheets”). Replace
all supplies in bag, and return to the storage cabinet.
