Pickleball Challenge Ladders -- Mon Feb 12, 2007
Announcing... Pickleball Challenge Ladders.
There have been some requests for challenge ladders, so here they are. There are five separate brackets:
| Men's Doubles | Men's Singles | Women's Doubles | Women's Singles | Mixed Doubles |
A challenge ladder is a bracket in which players are listed in order and may rise up the ladder by challenging those above them on the ladder. If the challenge is successful, then the players or teams swap positions on the ladder. Players of all skill levels are encouraged to play in the ladders. If enough players sign up in all skill levels, then everyone will have ready supply of players or teams with whom they can arrange matches.
Challenge ladders have the following features:
- Matches are arranged at a time convenient to both parties.
- It is easy to find matches with players or teams of similar skill level or somewhat high skill on the ladder.
- The friendly competition provides good experience with a regular partner for tournament-like experience and practice.
The main challenge ladder page is here.
All players must be SCG Pickleball Club members.

Monitor Announcement -- Mon Feb 12, 2007
To all Club members:
BE SURE TO WEAR YOUR NAME TAG TO DROP-IN!! One time without an official name tag is excused, but twice means you are to go back home and get your badge. Contact Suzanne Harland at 975-5385 if you need another badge.
Monitors - - Check the blue sheet for names of those who have forgotten their name tags in the past. If their name is on the list, tell the player he/she is to go home and get their name tag.
Monitors - - Please don’t interrupt play on the courts to get people to sign in. Perhaps around 9:30 or so, if there are still players who haven’t signed in, you can “hover” around the gates to get players’ attention.
Monitors -- if it is raining on the morning of your monitor day, you still must go to the courts. If it’s a total rain-out, sign in on the Pink sheet accordingly, then leave. If it lets up before the drop-in time is up, you must be there.
New Monitors or others who wish a brush-up training: A short training session will be conducted immediately following the monthly membership meeting.
Thanks to all those who have been willing monitors!

Monitor Instructions for Rainy Days. -- Mon Feb 12, 2007
Pickleball Members - Yes, we could have some rainy days wiping out our drop-in session. If it is raining on your day to monitor, you must go over to the courts anyway (it might not be raining there). If it's a total downpour that is to last all morning, sign the PINK sheet in the monitor binder and indicate "rained out". This way, you'll get credit that you at least tried. If it is just a shower which might clear up before drop-in is over, please monitor the weather so that you are at the courts for people to sign in.
For old-timers who need a brush-up and for new members, remember monitor training session is held following the general membership meeting.
Thanks
