As I sit at my desk watching a dust storm rip through the Grand for the past 1/2 hour, I’ve got to ask, WHY? This morning, I watched Mark Weber prepping courts to be cleaned, Susan and I have spent dozens of hours power washing and sanitizing all of the chair cushions around the pickleball courts and now I can’t wait to see how bad everything looks.
So, how is everyone’s summer going?
It only feels like it’s been 1000 degrees for the past 60 or so days here in Grand (really only been 110+) and we are still playing every day. It is a dry heat (except when the humidity hits 60 percent).
Like I said, all of the chair cushions had been power washed and sanitized.
The fridge and sink area in the pavilion are now open all day/night long and Janelle Hansen has graciously offered to supply bottled water/drinks, and in the freezer, she has added PowerAde freezer pops (what a great idea for those of us still here) to keep us hydrated. If you see Janelle on the courts, thank her for doing this for the club.
We are also submitting several Small Project Proposals (SPP) to replace the current mister system in the Pavilion with a mister curtain and remove the old mister fans as well as installing a new mister system in the middle breezeway (by courts 5-12). Another SPP will go in for installing a water bottle filler/ice machine in the Pavilion.
More info to follow.
I hope that everyone has a great summer and comes back to Grand ready to play pickleball.
Thanks, and stay cool
Troy
