Sticker Party

There is going to be a sticker party on Saturday January 11 and Monday January 13, 2025, from 9AM until noon each day.  It will be located in the pickleball pavilion by courts 1-4.

What is a sticker party you ask? Good question.  It is how we get the members who have renewed for 2025 or new members who signed up from October 1 – December 31, 2024, their new year (2025) sticker for their badge(s).

Members can come to the pavilion and swipe in and get their new sticker(s).  We know that people have multiple badges.  You must bring them all with you to get a sticker.  We will not give you a sticker without a badge.  If you are getting a spouses/friend’s sticker, you will need their CAM card and badge to get their sticker.

We also have an area (help desks) for members who are having trouble renewing, have issues with their status (tier 1 or tier 2), how to sign up for court reserve and any other problems

In addition, there will be a table for making labels with your name/phone number for your paddles or water bottles. This helps when you forget your paddle/water bottle at the courts and the name labels help with the paddles in the paddle holders for open courts.

All of this sounds really good, but wait, there’s more:
Janelle Hansen of the Realty One Group is providing fresh coffee and hundreds of donuts for members waiting in line.  She will be located by the bulletin board near the bathrooms.

Can’t get any better than this?  Wrong again.
If you’ve always wanted a t-shirt with the club logo on it or an insulated mug with the logo, you are in luck.  Right next to the coffee and donuts will be a table featuring the shirts and mugs for sale.  Cost is $10 for the shirt and $20 for the mug.  Cash or check only. Sometimes I think that most people don’t read my emails all the way through and to see how many of you really do, I will give the 50th person who replies to this email with the comment, “I love pickleball” a free mug.  It should be fun.

This usually is a huge event (last year we had over 1000 members attend), so everyone needs to be patient and nice.
We start at 9AM, not 8:45AM, not 8:50AM, not 8:55AM.  Please do not try and pressure us to give you your sticker early, not going to happen!!!!!

What to do if you can’t make it on the 11th or 13th? How will I ever get my sticker?  There will be another sticker party on January 25th and 27th as well.

None of those dates work for me, you think to yourself.  Fear not, after the sticker parties, any board member, my wife Susan and a few other members will have stickers with them when they are at the courts.

Again, this is a huge event so parking can be an issue.  It would be nice if everyone is on their best behavior.  Have a cup of coffee and a donut (Thanks Janelle) and socialize with friends or play some pickleball.
Last but not least, Clean up after yourselves.

Thanks and Happy New Year
