It’s almost time for the Snowbirds/Heat Chickens to start making their way back to Grand now that it’s going to only be in the 90’s. The first Canadians are due back in the next week or so.
Here are some updates and information for the upcoming pickleball season.
– Drop-In time is changing on Sunday, October 5, 2025. Drop-In will start at 9AM and run until noon on all 22 courts.
– Rally scoring for Drop-In is now the first team to 15, no freezing and you do not have to be serving to win the game.
– Ladders will be starting in November. Play will start at 4:30PM. You will need to be on the Swish app to sign up and play in ladders. Mark Meier will be sending out an email blast to the club on how to set up the Swish app.
Ladies ladder is on Mondays starting November 3
Men’s ladder is on Tuesday’s starting November 4
Mixed ladder is on Thursday’s starting November 6
– There is a new monitor book in the pavilion. You will notice that there is no longer any monitor sign in sheets in the binder. You are signing up to monitor electronically, and it is being tracked electronically, so there is no need for hard copies.
– We will be holding a pickleball club board of directors’ election in December for the 2026 BOD. There are 4 openings: President, Treasurer, and 2 Members at Large. There will be a separate email blast coming out soon with more details.
– The December Club members only pickleball tournament is set for December 6 and 7. More information and how to sign up will be coming out shortly.
