Pickleball News and Notes

  • Now that Drop-In is back in full swing, we need to go over some of the basics of Drop-In
  • Scoring is Rally scoring to 15, win by 1 and you do not have to be serving to win.
  • Paddle Holders:  There are 5 paddle holders throughout the courts.  Each are for a different set of courts.
  1. Court 1 paddle holder is for courts 1-2.  This is a Novice only court and cannot be used by any other skill level
  2. Court 3 paddle holder is for courts 3-4.  This is the Advanced + courts for higher level players
  3. Middle Breezeway paddle holder is for courts 5-12.  These are the Intermediate skill level group
  4. Court 13 paddle holder is for courts 13-16.  These are Advanced courts
  5. Court 18 paddle holder is for courts 16-22.  These are also the Advanced courts
  • Dogs at the courts.  You can have dogs in the breezeways for taking a break during a walk, getting them a drink of water.  In other words, for a short period of time.  They should not be leashed to a chair or the fence while you are playing on the courts.  Please respect those around you.
  • Shoes.  You must wear shoes that were made for court surfaces and not go barefoot or wearing flip flops.
  • The winter club members only tournament will be held on December 6-7.  Registration will be opening this week
  • Last but not least, there will be a Selkirk Demo Day this coming Wednesday, October 22 from 9AM – Noon located in the pavilion. Julie Billetz will have all of the best Selkirk paddles available for you to demo.  Janelle Hansen of the Realty One Group will be providing the coffee and donuts for everyone.

Thanks, and we will see you around the courts.
