Instructions for Grand Games II Tournament

As a Team you will receive a TEXT message telling you and your partner to report to court# 1 of 22 and that you will be playing against team SO and SO. The TEXT message will also indicate which TEAM is 1st Choice.  If the TEXT says you will have a REFEREE, then go to your court and wait for the REFEREE. If the TEXT does NOT say REFEREE, then go to your court and let the 1st Choice TEAM do the following.
Once all 4 players are on the court, the 1st Choice Team has one of four choices to make.
They could choose: END, SERVE, RECEIVE or DEFER
1 Pick END which END of the court your TEAM wants to start on.
2 Pick SERVE that your TEAM wants to SERVE first.
3 Pick RECEIVE that your TEAM wants to receive first.
4 Pick DEFER that your TEAM is allowing the OTHER TEAM to make the 1st Choice.
If the 1st Choice TEAM chooses to pick END, the other TEAM has choice of SERVE or RECEIVE.
If the 1st Choice TEAM chooses to pick SERVE, the other TEAM has choice of which END to start from.
If the 1st choice TEAM chooses to RECEIVE, the other TEAM will SERVE and has choice of which END to start on.
Take 3 minutes to warm up, then start the Match.
There are only 2 types of Matches
Match 2 out of 3 games to 11, win by 2 points
Match 1 game to 15, win by 2 points.
In the Match 2 out of 3 games to 11, the TEAM that chooses to SERVE first will begin the game.
Once a TEAM wins the game, by getting 11 points or by 2 points ahead of the other TEAM, the
WINNING TEAM will enter both scores for that game.
If you are having issues entering the scores, there are Monitors in the Breezeways who can help.
The TEAMS will switch ENDS and begin game #2.

Once a TEAM wins game #2, by getting 11 points or by 2 points ahead of the other TEAM, the
WINNING TEAM will enter both scores for that game.
If 1 TEAM wins games #1 and #2 the Match is over.
If each TEAM has won 1 game each, then the TEAMS switch ENDS again and play game #3.
If you play game #3 when the first TEAM wins 6 points, both TEAMS will switch ENDS again and finish the Game.
Once a TEAM wins game #3, by getting 11 points or by 2 points ahead of the other TEAM, the
WINNING TEAM will enter both scores for that game.
Pickleball Den will record the scores and will automatically set up your next Match.
For each game played, both TEAMS get 2 – 1 minute TIME OUTS. PLEASE try to keep it to 1 minute.
In-between games you have 2 minutes to start the next game.
If someone falls or gets injured, complete the Rally and call for First AID right away.
If any player falls and hits their head, they will be REMOVED from the tournament.
