| The GRAND GAMES VII is now open for business. This tournament was opened up for all Grand residents who hold a valid/up to date CAM card. Currently there are only @110 players signed up with about 3 weeks left before registration closes. A lot of people spend a great deal of time and energy getting everything ready for tournament day. What this says to me is that most Grand residents do not want us to have tournaments here. If we fail to get over 200 players signed up before registration ends, this will be the last tournament that we as a club will hold. It just doesn’t make sense to continue to try and hold a tournament for such a small number of players compared to how many club members and residents who utilize our courts (over 3000 people are enrolled in the Swish app). We have moved the tournament dates around from November to December to March and April to try and find a date that works for a lot of people and still we get the same results. Sad state of affairs. I hope that more people will sign up to play because it really is a great place to have a tournament with a lot of good play, food, snacks, raffles and more. I am now off of my soapbox Tournament dates are December 6-7, 2025. On December 6, will begin with Women’s and Men’s Doubles. On December 7, will be Mixed Doubles. Skill levels are 3.0 to 4.5 and we will have some age brackets for the larger groups. Register by scanning the QR code or URL listed below. Only one person from each team needs to complete the registration and pay the fees for both team members. Cost is $45 per player. ($40 entry fee + $5 technology fee) $90 total for the team. If you would like to play in Men’s/Women’s and Mixed Doubles, you need to register again for the additional Division (Bracket). There is no charge for a second Division (Bracket) if you paid the initial entry fee. Players without partners – click the “Players” tab on the registration page, look for the bracket you would like to play in and click the “Looking for Partner”. Fill in your information and someone may contact you to form a team. We will do our best to help match players who need a partner. UPDATE: We will be using the Swish Sports app for this tournament. This can be downloaded for free from the App Store or Google Play. Each player will be receiving an insulated cup, a meal ticket and a lot of pickleball. Format will be round robin using Regular scoring to 11, win by 1. There will be snacks and beverages available and a ton of Raffle prizes. Vendors will be on site and a food tent will be serving food for $10 or a meal ticket. Don’t wait until the last moment to sign up.
