On behalf of the women that the Fountain and the women we serve who are sex trafficked, often homeless and addicted, thank you for your generous shoe donations! So many women will be extremely grateful to have a pair of shoes, especially as our weather turns cool. Your generosity has humbled our hearts and we are filled with gratitude.
I cannot begin to tell you how it gives women dignity and comfort to have a pair of shoes that fit. Many come out of the shoe area with a big smile filled with joy. These gifts provide a way to have conversation and offer resources in hopes that one day they will decide to come off the street and get away from their pimp. That may seem like an easy decision to us, but it is one of the most difficult for them because of the trauma and shame they have experienced. Shoes provide a measure of love and care for them that they have not received in a long time and shows that we care and God cares for them.
So on behalf of these precious women, thank you. May God bless your Thanksgiving and holiday season with joy and gratitude.
