I have just a few items to bring up to our club members before the year/season really starts.
- Tomorrow, Saturday, January 10 from 9AM – Noon in the Pavilion, we will be having a Sticker Party along with a Selkirk Demo Day. This is your chance to get your 2026 sticker, enjoy coffee and donuts (provided by Janelle Hansen of the Realty One Group), and try out the large selection of Selkirk paddles (provided by Julie Billetz). There will be 2 other sticker parties on Wednesday January 21 and Saturday, January 24. If you miss these dates, you can always find a board member to receive your sticker.
- Remember that during each Drop-In period, Courts 1 and 2 are to be used by Novices only. Even if they are empty, it is for beginners only.
- Please make sure that you swipe your CAM card each and every time that you are at the courts. If you have reserved a court and forget to swipe in, you will be receiving an email explaining the penalty for not swiping in.
- The training closet located in the pavilion has had the door codes changed and might not currently work. We are setting up the use of the ball machines and the ball hoppers in Court Reserve. Soon, if you want to use the balls or the ball machine, you will need to reserve a court and a ball machine/hopper, and Court Reserve will send you a short time usage code for the door. This way we can track how often the items are checked out.
A couple of housekeeping notes: - First, there has been quite a few issues with Gum/Candy left stuck to the courts. The court cleaning personnel are a little frustrated with having to clean this up. Let’s all be adults here and throw your gum/candy in the trash cans and not on the courts or in the breezeways.
- Second: Jay Whan has taken over the responsibilities of court cleaning and maintenance coordinator and is looking for people to help him out. It is a way to get your monitor credit for the year, and it really helps out the club. If this sounds like something that you would like to do, please contact Jay at jswhan@outlook.com
Thank and stay safe,
Troy
