George Cox ~ Pickleball Club Outstanding Volunteer Service Award ~ Fourth Quarter 2018

George was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area for 62 years. George moved to Sun City Grand in 2005. He knew nothing about Pickleball when they arrived but was very soon deeply involved in the club and was hooked on the game.

A few words from the member who submitted George for this award:

  • For well over a decade, George has been exhibiting leadership and dedication, as a key contributor to the Pickleball Club. His attention to detail, diplomacy, work ethic, and consistent results all epitomize the words “leadership and professionalism”.
  • George has served as PB club board member for over six years; 2006-2009 as treasurer and 2011-2012 as PB Club President. In his role as club President, George spearheaded the negotiations team campaign for new Pickleball courts.
  • George has and continues to perform many other club functions; currently act as backup for Joe Williams on the website. He posts email blasts and minutes on the website, updates the card readers with new club members and recently replaced the broken card reader at the courts.
  • He is currently serving as club document editor, paddle tester among the other key administrative duties.

George, on behalf of the Pickleball Club and Membership we want you to know that your commitment to the Club over the past thirteen years has not gone unnoticed and your contribution to the club has been over the top.

We especially want to thank you for being the initiator for negotiations that eventually led to the success of getting additional club courts. Please accept this award with our thanks for everything you have done to support the Club.
