Yesterdays charity event for A Soldiers Best Friend was a huge success and was made possible because of everyone in the Sun City Grand Pickleball club, who donated their time, money and support. It truly was a group effort pulling this event off.
I can’t thank everyone enough, from Ellie Brooks and Don Love of the Grand Board of Directors, Jack Thomas, President of the USAPA, the 12 Pro’s who gave up their day to come out to teach and play with club members, your Pickleball club board members and the ton of volunteers who went above and beyond what was needed.
We are still putting together the final totals, but it looks like we had over 70 people signed up to play with a pro and collected around $7,000 from the play, raffles, silent auctions, food and donations. We set our goal at $6,000 and Sun City Grand came through for this fantastic charity.
If you still want to donate, it’s not to late. We will be presenting A Soldiers Best Friend with the check at our January club members meeting.
