Rumors, Renewals, and More

We are getting close to the end of a busy year for the Pickleball Club, and I want to dispel some rumors and questions that are floating around out there.

DUES INCREASE – People are going to CAM management and others with the concern that the dues increase (voted on in October’s membership meeting and discussed in the December meeting) was to pay for a new court expansion.  The reality is that the increase ($30 with a monitor credit or $50 without a monitor credit) was driven by the cost of replacing the pickleballs (over $10K so far this year for 6,000 balls) and keeping the courts maintained, and not Court Expansion.  We have a committee looking into the possibility of some new courts, but it is only in the looking phase.

RENEWAL – The renewal period starts at midnight JANUARY 1, 2024.  The renewal form will be on the club’s website under the membership tab.  Before you renew, please check to see if you have a monitor credit or not.  Clicking on the wrong renewal cost will result in your application being returned and a $5 service fee.

HAVE I MONITORED IN 2023? – The link below is the most current list of members who have NOT monitored in 2023, please check the list to see if your name is on it.  If your name is on the list and you did monitor in 2023, please contact me with the date or dates that you monitored/volunteered.   No Monitoring Credit Lookup

STICKER PARTY – How/when do I get my 2024 sticker?  We will have the first Sticker Party from 9-noon on Saturday January 20, 2024, in the pavilion.  There will be other opportunities throughout the year to get your new sticker.

LADDERS – Ladders are currently scheduled to begin on Monday, January 8 from 4:30 – 6PM for men, Tuesday, January 9 from 4:30 – 6PM for ladies and Thursday January 11 from 4:30 – 6PM for Mixed.

I hope that everyone has a joyous holiday season with family and friends, and plenty of pickleball.

See you around the courts.
