CALL FOR 2023 PICKLEBALL BOARD NOMINATIONS, ROUND 2

We are still in need of nominations to fill 4 open 2023 board positions. They are:

Vice President
Secretary
Two Member at Large seats

With the help of others, I have now obtained full job descriptions for all board positions. They are attached to this email.

Now is the time for people to step up, and participate in providing leadership, and direction of your pickleball club.

Election Committee Chair

Board Responsibilities by Position:

President

  • Preside over club meetings.
  • Is accountable for administration of club business.
  • Act as principal liaison between the club and the association.
  • Appoint all committees and chairpersons with board approval.
  • In the event of board vacancies on the Executive Board, the President shall appoint, with Board approval, an interim replacement until official elections can be held.
  • Assign duties to other Board members.
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have vision about where to take the club.
  • Have basic computer skills.

Vice President

  • Shall perform duties of the President in the event of the President’s absence.
  • Shall perform other duties assigned by the President.
  • Have basic computer skills.

Secretary

  • Keep club records.
  • Issue notices of meetings of the Executive Board or General Meeting.
  • Keep Minutes of meetings.
  • Prepare all correspondence relating to the club.
  • Furnish any and all reports to the association as may be required.
  • Have basic computer skills.

Treasurer

  • Receive and deposit all funds due to the club.
  • Pay bills.
  • Furnish any and all financial reports to the Executive Board, membership and association as required.
  • Prepare and submit year end reports.
  • Work closely with ball chairperson and name tag chairperson.
  • Have good knowledge of bookkeeping procedures.
  • Have the ability to work with a spread sheet.
  • Have the ability to work with Money or Quicken for keeping the financial records.
  • Have excellent computer skills.

Member-at-Large   

  • Represent the membership at Board meetings.
  • Perform duties as assigned by the President.
